Judge Nick A. Selvaggio presides over the General Division of the Champaign County Common Pleas Court.
The General Division has jurisdiction over adult felony offenses, meaning those criminal offenses that carry a potential sentence of prison, and over civil cases, which may include foreclosure actions, civil stalking orders, garnishments, tax liens, negligence actions, administrative agency appeals, contract or labor disputes, declaratory judgment actions and actions of injunctive relief.
Magistrate Scott D. Schockling assists Judge Selvaggio in performing his judicial duties, allowing the General Division to provide litigants with prompt and efficient attention to case disposition.
Judge Selvaggio and Magistrate Schockling are not permitted to discuss specific cases with, or offer legal advice to, the general public.
